5/3/1

My year of 5/3/1.

I plan to follow Wendlers 5/3/1 strength programme for the entirety of 2020. Finally deciding to take action, no longer can I make excuses for my terrible squats “I have long femurs”, “I’ve had some back issues recently”.

Squatting twice a week minimum works for me so I am running front and back squats simultaneously. I have chosen 5/3/1 due to the relatively low volume which allows me to pursue other interests at the same time CrossFit, 3 peaks etc. A year feels like long enough to see decent results.

While it may be of little interest to most, the main reason for this post is to hold myself accountable. I find telling someone about your goals and plans to achieve them helps with adherence.
